You Don’t Have to Prove It by Josh DG
Firstly, thank you for reading my work.
Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or you’ve only recently come across my writing, I genuinely appreciate you spending some of your time with it.
Over the years I’ve become increasingly interested in why people think, feel, react, and experience life the way they do. That curiosity eventually became this book.
You Don’t Have to Prove It explores something I think a lot of people quietly experience but rarely put into words: the pressure to look like you’re doing well, improving, achieving, and keeping up. Not just on social media, but in everyday life too.
Today there’s more advice than ever about becoming happier, healthier, more disciplined, and more successful. Yet a lot of people still feel anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or like they’re somehow falling behind.
I believe part of the reason is that we’ve become so focused on improving ourselves that we’ve forgotten to first understand ourselves.
Rather than offering another list of habits or motivational advice, I wanted to look at what can happen beneath the surface. I explore validation, comparison, social pressure, identity, self-awareness, and the hidden ways the modern world can influence our mental health without us always noticing.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything right yet something still doesn’t feel right inside, I hope this book gives you a different way of looking at your own experience.
It’s available as a physical copy.
